TriangleHoops.com
Challenge. The purpose of the challenge was to showcase some of the best underclassmen talent in the state of North Carolina.
Triangle area players in attendance included Stanley Okoye (Knightdale), Tavares Speaks (Green Hope), Kip Kelley (Middle Creek), Montel Baines (Wakefield), Garrius Adams (Middle Creek), Eric Simpson (Leesville), Jarrick Brown (Millbrook), Dexter Randolph (Broughton), Marcus Wells (Southern Durham), Denzel Robinson (Chapel Hill), Earnest Ross (Panther Creek), Jon Wall (Word of God), Maurice Nash (Wakefield), C.J. Leslie (Holly Springs), Tyler Mavity (Millbrook), Ryan Kelly (Ravenscroft), Nelson Kirksey (Middle Creek), Robert Crisp (Chapel Hill), and Emanuel Chapman (Enloe) .
Coaches for the teams were from all over the state. Area coaches lending their talent were Rob Partin (Wakefield), Darryl Robinson (Leesville Road), Scott McInnes (Millbrook), and L.J. Hepp (Panther Creek).
Of all the area players Justin Watts (Durham Jordan) was the most impressive. Watts used his quickness to create and finish at the rim, while showing his shooting touch from deep. At a legit 6’4”, Watts rebounds well from the guard position. The combo guard has the talent to play four positions in high school, and should use his size and strength to post up more. Look for Justin Watts to put up consistently put up 20+ point performances in 07/08, as he did this season.
